Gasoline companies are already charging the most they can charge right now. I read their last income statement where they said that they have not been able to pass on the full cost of crude oil prices to consumers because they will use less fuel if they do. They complained that we are not getting used to the price. The price of their stock went down 13% on the news.
Bush gave Exxon Mobil what amounted to a one billion dollar tax cut last year to pay for research into alternative fuels. They did not do it. It is time to take that money back an spend it the way it was supposed to be spent. How stupid were we to give money to an oil company to bring about the end of oil companies.
Most(over half) of the run up in the price of crude oil is caused be speculation that George W Bush will attack Iran disrupting oil supplies. It does not help that J Sidney McCain the third likes to sing bomb bomb Iran on television. What a pudding brain. References : I am an MBA. I stupidly wast my life reading Financial Statements.
ROFLOL … you got that right. They have done a great job of keeping their campaign promise that as soon as they take control of Congress, they will bring gas prices down.
Nov. 2006 gas = $2.30gal … today = $4.20gal … Nice work Dems. References :

The idea is to add taxes to the oil now so they can dole it out to US later….yeah right! The additional taxes wold be held in the general fund. In that case, the amount them becomes available for SPENDING by the congress.
Trust this, if you give the congress $1 to spend, they will obligate $10! References :
Look. They clearly see it as a sin tax, like on cigarettes and booze. They don’t want to make gas cheaper. They want to cut back on consumption. It doesn’t seem to dawn on them that is will cut down on industrial production, jobs, prosperity, tax revenue, and life as we know it in the USA. References :
I just watched CNN’s international Channel(3pm EST), breaking the news that oil price spikes again. But the anchor and the reporter assert it is China’s diesel demand contributed to the hike.
Waited a sec ! It is already THIRD time I am hearing CNN’s assertion of China’s diesel demand. The first time was about two weeks ago. What’s going on?
Then, Israel’s-Iran-attack-drill news flashing back——-Which Was Just Happened This Morning ! That “unmistakable signal” is surely an act to have a consequence of oil supply disruption ! Why is it not reported as a oil spiking cause ? !
Time to scapegoat China again before a major offensive ? To verify, I went to CNN web site , there it is :

China hikes fuel prices http://money.cnn.com/2008/06/20/news/international/china_fuel.ap/index.htm
China to raise energy prices
http://money.cnn.com/2008/06/19/news/international/bc.as.fin.china.energyp.ap/index.htm?postversion=2008061912
But nowhere saying that Israel’s-Iran-attack-drill will unstablize the oil supply region, causing the oil price up.
