On Thursday, Robert Gibbs, Obamas press secretary, responded to a question about the so-called Slaughter Rule (named after Rep. Slaughter, who sits on the rules committee) that will be used by Democrats to force through Obamas totalitarian care bill, probably over the weekend.
Gibbs answer was deliberately opaque. By not addressing the question, he essentially said deem and pass will be used in the future to enact unpopular legislation, including a bill that will legalize millions of illegal immigrants.
It is now official — the Constitution is dead. It may as well be used to wrap fish.
Article 1, Section 7 of the Constitution requires that both houses of Congress hold recorded yea-or-nay votes on a bill before it can be presented to the president for his signature and before it can become law.
Obama approves of sabotaging the Constitution. He said he does not spend a lot of time worrying about what the procedural rules are, in other words violating the spirit and law of the Constitution is not a biggie for him. What I can tell you is that the vote thats taken in the House will be a vote for health care reform. And if people vote yes, whatever form that takes, that is going to be a vote for health care reform, he told Bret Baier of Fox News.
These constitutional rules set forth in Article I are not mere exercises in formalism, former federal appeals court judge Michael McConnell told the Wall Street Journal earlier in the week. They ensure the democratic accountability of our representatives.

@thekwizatshaderach nothing wrong with health care for everyone thats how it should be but not when your forced to pay for something that still doesnt gaurantee you will be properly cared for and what about the people who are struggling now and are forced to pay for this? the money is only going to greedy corporations who try to keep you from getting your care even if you pay. it should be paid out of taxes. not like this.

But we already pay for those that don’t have insurance. Hospitals hike their prices to cover this, and other taxes are used for this. So, paying for others taxes is a lame reason to be againist it, there are other more concrete reasons to be against it. My question is around the immigrant amnestiy law that was passed as a result – illegals can stay if they pay a penalty and back taxes AND must perform CIVIL ACTIONS – sounds like slavery to me. Its the stuff around this bill we need to look at

then, it would not matter who gets in on the insurance system later bc eventually they would have the incentive to place their earned dollars ( instead of just through capped benefits paid through our taxes) and begin to take responsibility for their future health and economic wealth…i don’t know anyone whom would not want to earn more to save more of their own on the side…it would be nice to see what we have w/ life insurance ‘cash outs’…they DO exist…we have one!

i also think that for those who want, they can pay into their own insurance benefits, just as if you were paying your monthly premiums, whatever was unused can be added to subsequent yrs. or can be placed into an investment account or savings acct. of your choice. W/ the taxes that we pay for those who cannot afford it on their own entirely, they will be offered the same to do with what is not used…that is the type of reform i would like to see happen…give back the control of our own $!

i think that it is wrong to force ‘the few to pay’ for the insurance for those that refuse to pay for their own…this bill really has no bearing on reformation, just total control of the middle class to pay the cost through taxation…the most socio-economically depressed in this country will receive care just as they ALWAYS have, through the working middle class…the very rich have shelters that the middle does not…i prefer competitive insurance across state lines +torte reform…
