This marine now running for congress:
http://www.davidwhedrick.com/
From the marine in the video: “I, David William Hedrick, a member of the silent majority, decided that I was not going to be silent anymore. So, I let U.S. Congressman Brian Baird have it. I was one questioner out of 38, that was called at random from an audience that started at 3,000 earlier in the evening. Not expecting to be called on, I quickly scratched what I wanted to say on a borrowed piece of paper and with a pen that I borrowed from someone else in the audience minutes before I spoke. So much for the planned talking points of the right wing conspiracy.”

I appreciate the …
I appreciate the passion and anger towards the government.- and I basically agree with this guy. I’m still really disappointed that there are so many distortions and misinformation out there, though, and that we didn’t see enough of this kind of thing when Bush was pulling all his crap. And I’m really tired of hearing Fox News/limbaugh soundbites coming out of so many otherwise good people. Would anybody be making this Nazi/Hitler remarks about Obama if they hadn’t heard it from jerks like Beck?

The solution is …
The solution is simple – this out of control radical government needs to create jobs and as far as the ones that don’t have health insurance, give em a job and let them take care of their own insurance like everyone else. Why should I have to pay for those lazy pie holes to sit on their arse all day and wine about what they don’t have? The government needs to stay out of the private sector. They just need to fix the health care they have now. Come down hard on all insurance fraud also.

A substantial portion of H.R. 3200, the House health care bill, is devoted to amending the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 in order to give the IRS the authority to perform these new duties.

Under the various proposals now on the table, the IRS would become the main agency for determining who has an “acceptable” health insurance plan; for finding and punishing those who don’t have such a plan; for subsidizing individual health insurance costs through the issuance of a tax credits; and for enforcing the rules on those who attempt to opt out, abuse, or game the system.

I agree & think …
I agree & think that definetely needs to change. It’s the working people that have had their pockets gouged for so many years while the wealthy were given huge tax breaks & write offs [loopholes]. I think what’s very important is for the American public to not feel so helpless & that WE really DO hold the power & we CAN change things. It won’t happen overnight but it’s good to be active in taking the power back. Good comment, btw~

I think the big …
I think the big fear that I can see here, people are afraid of big goverment takeovers. What most people don’t understand is, the goverment runs public schools, they already run Medicaid/Medicare [which I a told is a very good system] & the country is not socialized. If someone has good health insurance, then that’s great, then it should be left alone. The problem is there are so many out there that have nothing & can’t make it. There has to be a much better solution/system than what we have now

That’s just the …
That’s just the problem. There many, many people who work hard for living, 2 & 3 jobs jus to get by. Why should the working poor have to suffer when clearly they are working. You are a very young man. The US didn’t always have a system like this, not untill the Nixon years Prior to that, the US was not bankrupt. . Yes, the whole system needs to be reformed, no question on that. We have to start somewhere & the time is now.

Who said being a …
Who said being a janitor for a hospital would give you good health care? Many of the compnies & large coorperations make it a point to only offer health care to full time employess [at least in their brochures] then proceed to only hire part time help. Also, IF healthcare WAS affordable, do you think we would be in the mess we are in now? Health care is not nor should EVER be considered a ‘handout’ but a bare necessity for all people as it is in ALL industrilized countries EXCEPT the The US.

Good healthcare for …
Good healthcare for ALL citizens should be Everyone’s resposibility (end quote) i agree that more american citizens need to take the initiative to go out and buy there health care and take more responsibilty to do so rather then expect the fed to give them handouts and its not reserved for the privileged i dont know where you getting that info if you get a job working in a hospital it one easy way getting healthcare even if it means being a janitor

Good healthcare for ALL citizens should be Everyone’s resposibility & not reserved for just a privileged few. Your opinion that I want free stuff is just that. YOUR OPINION & Nothing else. I also earn my paycheck & I don’t know of anyone who has ‘jumped the fence’ & doesn’t ‘feel like working’ so your argument therefore is foolish & makes no sense.

I hope & pray Obama’s health care passes. As an underinsured American who hs gone without heath care for most of my adult life….it would be a relief & hopefully we can catch up to Europe & the rest of the world rather than be on a 3rd world nation status.
