On Thursday, Robert Gibbs, Obamas press secretary, responded to a question about the so-called Slaughter Rule (named after Rep. Slaughter, who sits on the rules committee) that will be used by Democrats to force through Obamas totalitarian care bill, probably over the weekend.

Gibbs answer was deliberately opaque. By not addressing the question, he essentially said deem and pass will be used in the future to enact unpopular legislation, including a bill that will legalize millions of illegal immigrants.

It is now official — the Constitution is dead. It may as well be used to wrap fish.

Article 1, Section 7 of the Constitution requires that both houses of Congress hold recorded yea-or-nay votes on a bill before it can be presented to the president for his signature and before it can become law.

Obama approves of sabotaging the Constitution. He said he does not spend a lot of time worrying about what the procedural rules are, in other words violating the spirit and law of the Constitution is not a biggie for him. What I can tell you is that the vote thats taken in the House will be a vote for health care reform. And if people vote yes, whatever form that takes, that is going to be a vote for health care reform, he told Bret Baier of Fox News.

These constitutional rules set forth in Article I are not mere exercises in formalism, former federal appeals court judge Michael McConnell told the Wall Street Journal earlier in the week. They ensure the democratic accountability of our representatives.

They certainly do not seem to represent the wishes of the majority of Americans. Were they elected to dictate their ideologies to us or to represent us?

Since opening up new territory will not produce ANY more oil supplies until at least a DECADE from now, deciding to allow the oil industry (read–BIG friend of Bush/whole administration) access to fragile environmental and ecological areas is NOT a decision that should be made without serious study. Epecially since Bush has tried for the Arctic lands time and time again, and been voted DOWN because of the will of the people time and time again. The guy’s got a fixation on it, or he made BIG oil industry promises that he’d get it for them before he left office. The oil industry has VAST amounts of land in lease that they DO have drilling rights on that they have not yet explored. THOSE lands should be examined PRIOR to giving them rights on fragile environments. Ethanol doesn’t solve the issue, it also compounds it. Fertilizers and herbicides are petroleum-based, and more petroleum is used in other aspects of production. It also is, and will continue to, disrupt the food supply. Rising corn prices (supply and demand) mean rising food AND fuel prices. It’s also going to hurt us in other ways. The Bush Administration is talking about removing lands from the CRP program: THE SINGLE MOST EFFECTIVE ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAM EVER CREATED, to put more farmlands back into crop production. The problem is that those CRP lands were set aside BECAUSE they we’re great crop production land AND because they were environmentally sensitive–greenbelts, steep ground, barriers for creeks and so forth. Nominal crop grain, enormous environmental damage, ANDD he’s talking about NOT asking the affected farmers to repay–and this isn’t going to help FAMILY farmers–the VAST percentage of these lands are Factory farming operations in the midwest–another boost to big industry at the expense of the individual. Drilling for MORE oil and increasing our oil supply does NOTHING to solve the underlying issue: dependency on NON_RENEWABLE fossil fuels, no matter where they come from. If we don’t, collectively, change our use, what happens when THESE stores are gone? We’ve simply postponed the problem, not solved it. If the support behind the programs that Jimmie Carter started back in the 70′s hadn’t be removed, we’d be MUCH better off today. In fact, many European countries ARE in a much better position, in all sorts of ways, because they didn’t let big business run the energy show, and because their energy prices remained high. They have laws that allow industrial energy WE waste to be recovered, THEY have a good public transportation system that allows people to do WITHOUT cars at a higher percentage than we do. We’re paying the price for our own extravagance now (remember the tax break the Bush administration was giving just a couple of years ago if you bought a new SUV?–what a good deal THAT was!), and the ONLY fix is to concentrate our efforts on RENEWABLE, CLEAN, SAFE, LOW-CARBON FOOTPRINT energy sources. It isn’t the dependency on FOREIGN oil that is the issue, it’s the dependency on OIL AT ALL that is the issue. IT IS NOT AN ENDLESS RESOURCE. Right now, many folks, instead of sitting back, taking a deep breath, and looking at the problem, are running in circles, screaming and shouting. They want a quick fix and they want it NOW, and when the Bush administration says "We’ll drill there" they think AHA! That’ll do it! and start insisting. BUT IT WON’T HELP–or in the end, even make a discernable dent in the real problem. And this administration has proven, again and again, that they will take from US and hand it over wholesale to big industry. So I don’t trust this administration to do ANYTHING in my best interest, because they’ve never shown a MOMENT’s concern for the needs of real people over those of industry in the 7.5 years they’ve been in power.

Have you tried looking up the number to Congress in the blue pages (look under FEDERAL Government) of your Yellow Book Directory, or tried finding the access to such pertinent information regarding such via the internet?
