What is your thoughts on the Congress on the BCS?

Posted by admin on May 31st, 2010 and filed under congress meeting | 12 Comments »

If you have not heard congress is holding a hearing on whether or not the bcs breaks the antitrust law.

My personal feelings is yes, congress should get involved in this and force a playoff system. For those who say our congress have more important things to fix, than explain what they have fixed lately that Americans truly notice and care about. Look I am sure it is not a huge cost for congress to meet up about a system that is illegal, and benefits only major conference teams. What are your thoughts?

The more I watch the BCS, the more it makes sense….. playoffs are unfair

What should I wear to meet congress members?

Posted by admin on May 29th, 2010 and filed under congress meeting | 4 Comments »

I’m going to my state capital building to represent my school and meet senators and representatives. What should I wear!? I’m seventeen, 120 pounds, 5’4.

Dress conservatively -like a receptionist or a secretary. A Slim skirt below the knees, low heels or flats (you may want to wear a longer skirt and canvas ballet tennis shoes you will be walking a lot), Blouses look better than T-shirts and have at least 1 nice suit (or use a blazer that co-ordinates with your skirt) in case you have an opportunity to meet your congressman(you can write ahead for and appointment) that way you can have a nice photo of you with them. If you feel more confident and at ease in pants – opt for dressy trousers that are classically cut (think Kathrine Hepburn). For your makeup and hair – a smooth professional un-made up look will go over well. If you look like a congressional page you are more likely to be photographed with your Representatives and have your picture in the paper. Good Luck!

what date congress begin their annual meeting?

Posted by admin on May 26th, 2010 and filed under congress meeting | 1 Comment »

Congress begins on The State of the Union Address which the President of the United States reports on the status of the country, normally to a joint session of Congress (the House of Representatives and the Senate). It has occurred in January (except for six occasions in February) since 1934. Sometimes, especially in recent years, newly-inaugurated Presidents have delivered speeches to joint sessions of Congress only weeks into their respective terms, but these are not officially considered State of the Union addresses. The 2007 Address took place on January 23, 2007 at 9:01 PM EST.
